Description:
In this section, we learned about two specific organ systems that we selected. We then preformed research on the individual function of each system and how they worked together. In our case, the systems we selected were the skeletal and muscular system. We then had to design and create a model for each as well as one to show how they interacted. A presentation was also made to go along with our 3 models.
Concepts:
Human Organ Systems: A series of similar tissues connect together to form an organ. A series of organs together form an organ system. We applied this concept in this project to allow us to focus on the specific organ system and understand what an organ system was.
Muscular System: A series of protein tissue with three varieties and purposes: skeletal(voluntary movement), smooth(involuntary movement), and cardiac(heart pumping). The other purposes of the muscular system are movement of and in the body, circulate blood, constrict blood vessels, support the bones, and maintain posture. We used the muscular system to represent one interaction between two organ systems.
Skeletal System: A series of calcified tissues form is three layers: a hard outer layer, a spongy middle layer, and a jelly marrow. The primary purposes of the skeletal system are provide structure to the body, protect internal organs, store calcium, and produce blood cells. There are 206 bones in the normal adult human, in which teeth are not included but still considered a part of the skeletal system. We used the skeletal system to represent one interaction between two organ systems.
Project:
For this project, we constructed three models. The first model represents the protective qualities of the rig cage(skeletal), the second represents the effects of smooth muscle on the large intestine(muscular), and the third represents a leg with hinge joints and partial representation of the effects of the muscular system on the leg bones for motion. We unfortunately could not fully represent the muscular and skeletal systems to their full purpose and accuracy due to the limited time, resources, and experience.

Reflection:
Overall, this project went quite well. My leadership worked well in this project. During the brainstorming process, I was able to efficiently help my group create plans for models and execute the plans later on in the cycle. I worked very well with this group. During the construction of the rib cage model, the entire group was able to work in harmony throughout the entire process with conciseness and coordination.
There were also weak points within my performance during this project. My work ethic was overall not the best. There were certain days in which I would complete the planned work, have time to spare, and fail to use that time to continue working on the project. I will try to improve this through implementing a planning phase during unused time. I also struggled slightly with empathy. During the feedback of the outlining of the plan, I failed to see any advice given to my group as valuable. I will try to improve this by analyzing all advice for potential use before discarding it.
